Sorry, no picture, nor videos
Just wanted to give you quick feedback on my first experience with the replacement of the floppy in my TS12.
Bought a cheap Gotek on Amazon (around 20EUR). No reference in the description, this happens to be a SFRC922D.
Bought a FT232RL component (7EUR) that is needed between your PC and the Gotek. Too bad the USB Type-A male to Type-A male does not work here as the connections between the serial adapter and the Gotek is really hard to do.
I also bought the license on the HXC site (12EUR). Jeff will send you information on server IP, login and password to flash the Gotek : http://hxc2001.com/store/
I can send you the exact references if needed.
I strapped the cables (from UTP cable) between the serial adapter and the Gotek. Soldering would be better but the space between holes in the Gotek is quite small and I'm no expert.
I changed the jumper on the adapter to 3.3V.
Compared to the video below, my Gotek had a row of 4 instead of 3. I plugged the 5V and the GND to the far left : GND still being under J4=TX for adapter.

Downloaded the STM32Serialbridge program and ran the flashing with the login/pwd and holding tight the cables on the Gotek. Took around 1 minute. I don't know if there is a CRC check or some verification but my 3 digit LED was still blank, not showing the LdR as in the video.
Downloaded the HXCFEUSB_HFE firmware files and didn't know which config file to use. I selected normal node BUT seems you need to select Indexed mode. You can change that later by holding the 2 buttons on the Gotek at startup.
Formatted a USB stick, FAT32, and copied on to it the HXCSDFE config file, along with the *.UPD firmware.
Opened up the TS12 (http://www.ts12.net/ts12-ev-baseplate.html), removed the floppy and inserted the Gotek. Showed LdR on the Gotek. Power off, inserted the USB stick, power on, and the firmware got loaded and the HxC displayed on tthe LCD !
Took time to flash the Indexed config by changing the CFG file and booting with the 2 buttons held.
I forgot to change the jumpers to M0 and S0 on the Gotek, had to remove the drive again.

Downloaded the primitive HxCFloppyEmulator software and this will be my next steps.
Seems I need to create HFE files (3921 kb) from EDE or EDT or... and then copy those on the USB stick.
Then need to rename each HFE files in sequence : DSKA0000.HFE, DSKA0001.HFE
Need to always have to have the config file on the root of the stick.
I made small tests, using the parameters found in :
http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewt...t=510&start=75
Had my first "success" with a file that contains Hyperwaves.
Still lots of "Disk has changed" or "Disk not formatted" but getting there.
Will post later when I fully understand how this Emulator is supposed to work and with which Ensoniq/TS files.
Fred
